The art behind the game
Voxel
Well, I´m not a 3d artist I´m a writer becoming a programmer and game designer. My experience making prototype was hard at the beginning, it´s difficult to find artists and make stuff for free for a long project vision so I had to start doing some blocky stuff and find a way to use it for my prototype.
Voxel was the solution, I use MagicaVoxel and it´s an incredible tool to make cool stuff and quick. Excellent for the Jam. I don´t want to use premade assets because that changes the control of my ideas so I prefer to make all the art new for the game.
Inspiration
I have one major reference that always wants to make stuff like that, is Matthew Lyons had that low poly different crazy stuff with a nice color palette and have it all that I want to get my style in the game.
The other inspired but this it´s a game inspiration not released yet but it´s giving me the impression that will be a huge success, is Little devil inside.
Especially the old guy look.
The 70s
The game has a unique style but I need it to place in one decade to print the feeling of the time. the 70s have nice and cool art and colors that I could explore and get that look to fit perfectly with the mood of the game.
